Artist village, TuYouQi, Baotou City

In addition to providing art exhibitions and various public or private gathering places, artist studios should also provide a good environment for artists' life and creation, of which privacy is a large part. This combination of public and private can be understood from the perspective of the city. The ancient Beijing city is divided into outer city, inner city and forbidden city. From the outside to the inside, the openness is gradually reduced, the privacy is gradually enhanced, the public activities are limited in a certain space range, the privacy of the city rulers is well guaranteed, and the artist studio can be seen as a miniature city.

The theory of urban open space level shows that people's experience of space is a process from public to semi public to semi private and then to private. If we design architecture from the perspective of city, we can make good use of this theory to further guide the subdivision of space.

Artistry requires that the project itself should have certain characteristics, be consistent with the artist's temperament, and at the same time take into account the local characteristics, use the local materials, local construction technology and means, respect the local cultural environment, religious customs, and become a unique regional architecture. At the same time, the art village should create a good outdoor space environment and become a major feature of the entire cultural industry park.
